My Mama, Lucía Anna Di Beniditto, was born in Monte Casino, Italy in 1927. Her mother taught her all the family recipes. She married an American Air Force pilot in World War II, Cpt. Leon E. Hooten. Mama had seven children and I was the seventh and happened to be born in Frascati, Italy. In 1972 we opened a restaurant in Duncan, Oklahoma and named it “Mama Lucia's”. Mama taught me all the secrets at the young age of nine. I loved to cook with Mama but also loved to play the trumpet. Later, I bought the restaurant performing there weekly along with concerts all over the world. I have recorded 17 CD’s; visit me online at www.davidhooten.com. A few years ago I closed the restaurant due to my busy schedule playing concerts, but everyone always asks for my sauce. Well, here it is!
